OLD GOA: Six juveniles escaped from Apna Ghar at Merces on Thursday evening and five of them were nabbed on Friday.
According to Old Goa Police, Priyanka Naik, matron of Apna Ghar, Merces, had complained that the six juveniles, who were admitted in Apna Ghar Merces as per the order of CWC North and South of JJB, escaped from their custody sometime between 6.45 pm and 6.55 pm.
Old Goa police said the six juveniles had escaped from Apna Ghar through a bathroom window with the help of a bed sheet, before jumping over the compound wall and escaping from the remand home.
Sources said the juveniles had reportedly spent the night in the forest near the Apna Ghar.
However, three inmates were sighted at Chimbel on Friday afternoon after locals found them moving in a suspicious manner and they were later handed over to the police. Two other inmates were picked up from Mapusa.
Old Goa Police registered a case under Section 224 IPC and PSI Sagun Sawant is investigating the case.
