MAPUSA: Six members of a family have been booked for attacking and injuring a Verla-Canca resident on Monday.
According to Mapusa police, six members of a family trespassed into to the house of Pritesh Jadhav and attacked him while he was having bath.
The assailants reportedly use a knife, chopper and bamboo sticks to attack Jadhav causing major injuries.
The accused are identified as Krishna Korgaonkar, Dhondu Korgaonkar, Mahesh Korgaonkar, Yashwant Korgaonkar, Baburav Korgaonakr and Chandani Korgaonkar from Verla.
Jadhav was immediately taken to Mapusa District hospital and was later shifted to Goa Medical College at Bambolim where he is currently undergoing treatment.
Police said that a day before the incident, Nayani Korgaonkar from the Korgaonkar family complained to Mapusa police that Jadhav attacked her relative Satish Korgaonkar with a chopper. These two families have dispute over property matter.
On a complaint by Jadhav’s mother Jyoti, Mapusa police have booked all the six accused under Sections 143, 147, 148, 448, 504, 427, 326 and 506 of IPC.
The accused persons have not yet been arrested.
