The Regional Plan 2021 (RP 21) of four talukas-North Goa, Sattari (hinterland) and Pernem (coastal) and from South Sanguem (hinterland) and Canacona (coastal) would be finalized and notified in the first phase. Hence the ground study of these talukas would be done in next 4-8 weeks.
The SLC met on Thursday under the chairmanship of deputy Chief Minister and minister for TCP Francis D’Souza.
Speaking to Herald, SLC member and chairman of Indian Institute of Architecture, Goa Chapter Mangesh Prabhugaonkar said the committee has decided to direct the local office of TCP department to undertake ground verification in all four talukas, rather than being dependent on Google mapping, alone.
“The officers will visit the places with spreadsheet checklist noting the ground verifications. This will include taluka name, plot number, zoning of the plot as per RP 2001 and 2021, kind of vegetation cover, natural cover, infrastructure availability and the reasons for said suggestions or objections,” he explained.
“This will be followed by comment-cum-recommendation from Chief Town Planner on whether the application should be allowed fully, partially or rejected,” Prabhugaonkar added.
“The Chairman was of the view that the public views be given the uttermost importance” he stated.
All these applications have been categorized under new settlement in ECO-1, new settlement in non ECO-1, to restore 2001 settlement in ECO-1 and non-ECO-1, rectification of houses, temples, road width, fresh demands, etc.
In the earlier meeting, it was resolved to correlate and superimpose the components of RP 2001 and RP 2021 and draft an integrated land plan cum ‘Goa-based Visionary Growth Plan.
