VASCO: Soil testing work for doubling of railway track project is in progress at Belabai-Vasco from last few days. Source from railways confirmed the news of soil testing being carried out by Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL).

In Belabai-Vasco area machineries like mechanical crane, concrete mixer and drilling machines have been deployed for soil testing.
The double tracking project has drawn huge protest from villages namely Velsao, Issorcim, Cansaulim etc fearing that it would have adverse effect on environment, heritage houses and on health of the people. Several social groups, panchayats and locals have strongly staged opposition to the double tracking.
