Solidarity panel backs people’s movements in Goa

PANJIM: The Solidarity Committee, comprising activists from Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Hyderabad, visited Goa to express their support to people’s movements in the State along with activist Swati Kerkar.

Hema, a member of the committee said, “We are here to express our unity with the people of Goa to fight against the corrupt government.” They specifically expressed their solidarity with Fr Bismarque Dias’ family. The committee stated it has observed movements led by activists and people and are lending their support to save the heritage of India.
Committee members stated that Goans should take a stronger initiative to fight the so-called development that is against the people and try to sustain the culture and livelihood of the State.
Hema said, “We have been in Goa for the past three days and have been observing the attitude of the State government. We have to fight for our rights and our place or else it will be slaughtered by the so-called development.”
They requested activists in Goa to visit Telangana, to experience and learn tactics to fight corruption.
