Solution to Power Dept software soon: IT official

PANJIM, FEB 25: The Information Technology Department official has said that power department software issue will be re-solved soon.
Talking to Herald, Director of Information Technology Pravin Chandelkar said that the issue of controversial software will be resolved soon.
“We are in process of resolving it. Talks are been held with the officials from software firm. We will come out with a solution,” he said.
Meanwhile, Chandelkar has said that they have not received any official letter from the Power Department over cancellation of the contract.
“We have not received any letter pertaining to cancellation of the contract with the firm,” he added.
Officials of Electricity Department on Thursday had said that they have already written to the IT Department that they are discontinuing with the software, which is having several errors.
Herald in its weekend edition on February 20 had exposed that around 60,000 power consumers from Tiswadi are facing faulty billings after the software installed by IT Department has developed a snag.
It was informed that all the four sub divisions of Tiswadi – Taleigao, Bambolim, Khorlim and Panjim, are flooded with the consumers rushing with the bill with error.
