It was estimated that the long-delayed district hospital project would be finally commissioned by 2015 end, taking into account that work on the ambitious project had progressed at a snail’s pace since day one. But, with government foreclosing the contract and the Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC) bracing up to ink a new contract after re-tendering, no one is willing to set a firm date for the inauguration of the district hospital. The district hospital project has been on the agenda of the outgoing chief minister, but work on the project had gone haywire, first over the indecision whether to utilise the top two floors of the district hospital for a para-medical institute and now due to the foreclosure of the contract.
