PONDA: Ponda MLA Ravi Naik on Wednesday said senior citizens are suffering due to non-payment monthly pension.
Naik said several senior citizens have been left without monthly pension for three-four months and are approaching him with complaints that their pension amount has not been deposited in their account for the past four months.

He said many senior citizens are totally dependent on this money and demanded that Government should immediately release the amount into their account. He requested the government should curb some expenditure and release money to pay the pension to these senior citizens.
Meanwhile, a 70-year-odl woman from Mhalshi-Curti informed media persons that she is spinster and has no support. The woman claimed that she did not receive her monthly pension since February and has no other source of income or any member to take care of her.
