ST Representation Bill Passage to Boost Tribal Welfare in Goa, Says Minister Ramesh Tawadkar

Goa Tribal Welfare and Art and Culture Minister Ramesh Tawadkar on Wednesday said that the passage of the Representation of Scheduled Tribes in Assembly Constituencies of the State of Goa Bill, 2025 by the Indian Parliament would significantly benefit the Scheduled Tribes community in the state.

Speaking on the development, the Poinguinim MLA stated that consequential actions would be initiated within the next 15 days to strengthen welfare measures for the ST community in Goa.

Tawadkar also announced that with the formation of a technical cell, long-pending plans for the construction of an Adivasi Bhawan would be taken up soon. He added that the proposed facility would serve as an important hub for tribal welfare activities and cultural initiatives across the state.
