MAPUSA: In a bid to promote the Atmanirbhar Bharat, Swayampurna Goa movement in the State initiated by the State Government, various welfare projects were seeded at Assonora. MLA, Tivim, Nilkanth Halarnkar alongwith Swayampurna Mitra of Assanora panchayat, Isha Sawant, ZP members laid the foundation stone for reconstruction of house of one Jayanti Satardekar at Assonora on Friday.
The house of Satardekar is being constructed with the help of Rotary Club, Mapusa, as the family comes under below poverty line (BPL).
Speaking on the occasion Halarnkar appreciated the efforts put in by the Mitra and other officials in Assonora panchayat for positive implementation of Swayampurna Goa initiative of the Government. He appealed to the people to avail benefits of the Government welfare schemes and projects under the Swayampurna Goa.
MLA also distributed dough kneading machines and packing /sealing machines to women groups which would be used for food production and food processing on a commercial basis, thereby generating employment for Self Help Groups. The programme was followed by distribution of spectacles to senior citizens.
Z.P Member Diksha Kandolkar, Panch Sapana Mapari, Saloni Pednekar and others were also present.
