PANJIM: The State will continue to see cold evenings and night with weather department warning of drop in night temperature below normal for coming week.

On Thursday, Panjim recorded minimum temperature of just 17.8 degree Celsius-2.6 degree below normal.
In comparison, the maximum temperature recorded in the city was 32.2 Degree Celsius, just 0.1 degrees above normal, but the morning hours remained colder than usual though it was bright sunny outside.
For the city, Thursday saw the second-lowest minimum temperature during this season so far. The mercury had dipped to the lowest of the season- 17.2 on January 10.
For Mormugao, the minimum temperature was recorded at 18.4 Degree Celsius on Thursday, which is 3.6 degree below normal.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Goa observatory has predicted no large change in the condition in the coming days.
IMD in-charge Rahul said that minimum temperature is likely to continue below normal for coming week. He said that the condition is as a result of Northerly winds that are bringing colder air from Northern and Central parts of the country.
