VASCO: After being stranded for over a day, the 60 students of Thapar University Patiala, who were left behind by GoAir airlines early Monday morning, finally left for Chandigarh in two batches on Tuesday morning.
A source at GoAir told Herald that following a series of talks, the 60 students agreed to fly to their destination on Tuesday morning in two batches, after reportedly paying a minimum fare from Mumbai to Chandigarh.
The source added that the airlines officials and the students agreed to a compromise and the students spent the night in a hotel.
The first batch of students boarded the first GoAir aircraft to Mumbai at 6.50 am, while the second batch left the Dabolim airport on GoAir aircraft at 8 am. “All the 60 students will then board the GoAir aircraft from Mumbai to Chandigarh at 4 pm and reach Chandigarh at about 6.30 pm,” the source added.
