Sudeep Tamankar Assault Case: Mapusa Police Arrest Four Accused

Sudip Tamankar, general secretary of the All Goa Private Bus Owners’ Association, was brutally assaulted by a mob of seven to eight individuals in Mapusa on Saturday while returning home on his two-wheeler after a press conference. The attack came hours after he publicly accused a tours and travels company of operating unregistered buses illegally in Goa.

The assailants blocked his path, forced him to fall, beat him causing injuries to his hands and legs, and photographed his vehicle. Tamankar told media the violence aimed to silence his advocacy against transport violations. Mapusa police swiftly registered an FIR, detained initial suspects, and arrested four from Bangalore’s Sunrays Tour and Travels: Mounesh Tipanna (22), Narayan Bangali (28), Suresh Kabber (25), and Basvaraj Pujar (34). Investigation continues.
