Sudin calls for breaking language barriers

PONDA: Stating that the greatest strength lies in unity, PWD Minister Sudin Dhavlikar on Thursday emphasised the need to promote the development of the country.

PONDA: Stating that the greatest strength lies in unity, PWD Minister Sudin Dhavlikar on Thursday emphasised the need to promote the development of the country.
Addressing a gathering after unfurling the national tricolour on Independence Day at Kranti-Maidan in Ponda on Thursday, Dhavlikar said: “After independence, India has made tremendous progress in different sectors, much to the surprise of many other countries. Irrespective of caste or religion, let us take an oath to be united for the betterment of the society.”
“Also, there should not be language barriers, as we all are Indians,” added Dhavlikar.
Earlier, Dhavlikar inspected the guard of honour and rich tributes were paid to martyr at the martyr’s memorial at Kranti-Maidan, Ponda. 
Ponda MLA Lavoo Mamledar, Ponda Municipal Council members, freedom fighters, government officials and residents were present at the function.
On the occasion, Dhavlikar felicitated Sarvesh Naik from Talaulim for his bravery in saving the life of a boy from drowning in a pond at Talaulim-Ponda.
