Sudin Dhavalikar Defends Govt on Power Issues, Backs NEET Re-Exam

Power Minister Sudin Dhavalikar on Wednesday defended the State government on a range of issues, accusing Opposition leaders of creating “unnecessary agitations” over electricity bills and the regularisation of contract employees.

He said the State Cabinet would take the final decision on the regularisation of meter readers and other contractual staff.

Commenting on the NEET controversy, Dhavalikar said the re-conducted examination was successfully held and that many students had cleared the test. He also expressed confidence that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah would take the right decision regarding students who lost their lives amid the controversy. Responding to questions on the Ponda constituency, Dhavalikar said he is prepared to contest the next Assembly election from any of the four constituencies.
