Acting on a complaint from Atul Pai Kane, police filed an FIR against Chodankar under Section 153(A), 295(A) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 125 of the People’s Representation Act and 66-A of the Information Technology Act.
But the chief minister, who is also the home minister, said that ultimately the investigations had to be completed and the police have a job to do. However, the chief minister expressed his reservations about the intentions saying that there was a consistency in the way Chodankar was posting on the social networking site which he said was not very healthy.
