Supporters want Jose Philip to continue as minister

Surprised over Goa State NCP Coordinator Dr Praful Hede’s decision in asking Revenue Minister Jose Philip D’Souza to resign from the cabinet, a large number of supporters on Sunday resolved that D’Souza should be allowed to continue as minister.
In a solidarity meeting called by NCP Vasco Block workers and a large number of D’Souza’s supporters, it was unanimously resolved that D’Souza should be allowed to continue as the minister as he has delivered as per the expectations of the people.
Nearly 32 women groups have condemned the act in which D’Souza has been asked to resign without even asking him to present his point of view.
D’Souza and Councilors Neny D’Souza and Pascaole D’Souza did not attend the meeting, but a larger number of women supporters along with four councilors from Mormugao Municipal Council attended the meeting.
Most of the speakers at the meeting criticized Dr Hede for his decision in asking D’Souza to resign. The speakers also criticized the party for adopting two different sets of rule for Mickky Pacheco and other leaders.
Former MMC chairperson Kritesh Gaonkar moved a resolution to support D’Souza to continue as the minister considering his performance and clean image, which was seconded by Councilor Premanand Nanoskar, while a large number of supporters and NCP Vasco Block office bearers unanimously supported the resolution.
Goankar stated that it is conspiracy against D’Souza to sabotage his political carrier.
Few supporters threatened that there would a mass resignation from the party if their leader is not taken back in the cabinet.
Other who spoke at the meeting are Councilors Lavina D’Souza, Fiola Rego, Premanand Nanoskar, Prashant Bandekar, GSL union leader Kishor Shet, Sandeep Shetye, Damini Tari and others.
