Supreme Court Grants Goa Government Two Weeks to Respond to CEC Report on Proposed Tiger Reserve

The Supreme Court of India has granted the Goa government two weeks’ time to file its response to the Central Empowered Committee (CEC) report, which recommends the declaration of a tiger reserve in the state.

The extension was granted during the hearing of a Special Leave Petition (SLP) filed by the Goa government, during which the state had sought additional time to submit its reply to the apex court. The CEC report has suggested the notification of a tiger reserve in Goa, a recommendation that has sparked debate within the state.
