Margao: The Gawada Kunbi Velip Dhangar (GAKUVED) Federation thanked the Water Resource Department Minister Filipe Nery Rodrigues for revoking the suspension order of six WRD staff working at Chapolim Dam service area, in connection with the alleged shooting of obscene video by Poonam Pandey.
Earlier, Gakuved had given a memorandum to Executive Engineer WRD, and protested in front of his office questioning him. They gave two days time to revoke the suspension order of six WRD staff, who belonged to Scheduled Tribal Community.
Gakuved informed the Minister that another 7 security guards of GHRDC attached to Chapolim Dam were asked to report to the Canacona Police Station daily and are not been given water, food & transport. They said the guards also belong to the SC Community and are being unnecessarily harassed when there is no fault of theirs.
Rodrigues had assured Gakuved members that he will conduct an inquiry at his level through the Superintending Engineer.
