CALANGUTE: A portion of a sweet shop, Krishna Sweet Mart at Calangute market, caught fire on Monday early morning. The loss is estimated to be around Rs 25,000.
The Mapusa Fire Station was informed about the fire by the Panjim control room.
An official from Mapusa Fire Station revealed that the incident occurred at around 6.50 a.m.
However, the exact cause of the fire is not yet known.
Mapusa firemen rushed to the site managed to bring the fire under
Calangute PI Jivba Dalvi informed that a case has been registered against unknown persons under Section 457, 380 IPC for house breaking and causing fire. They have also written to the Fire Department to ascertain the exact cause of the fire.
