Talpona local held for theft of 6 batteries

CANACONA: A resident of Talpona in Canacona has been arrested on suspicion of stealing six batteries from a construction site.
Canacona police said that Goutam, a resident of Talpona, was intercepted by a police team on night patrol in Galgibaga at about 3 am on Wednesday. 
He was found riding a two-wheeler which had no number plate. He was brought to the Canacona police station as he was not able to provide satisfactory explanation on what he was doing at Galgibaga at that time of the night and was placed under arrest.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday morning an engineer attached to MVR Infra Projects Pvt Ltd who is constructing Charrasta to Mashem bypass NH66 link complained that 6 batteries of his equipments kept at Galgibaga have gone missing in the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday. 
On interrogation, it was found out that he allegedly stole the batteries worth Rs 50,000 and police recovered all the batteries from his house at Talpona. 
The accused person was produced before the Judicial Magistrate First Class who remanded him in judicial custody for 14 days.
