PONDA: Ponda Police on Monday arrested part time taxi driver Ashish Suresh Naik (25), resident of Cortalim, for sending threatening messages to Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant and other government functionaries.
The accused confessed that he had sent threatening messages to Chief Minister, Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho, Goa Forward Party Vice President Durgadas Kamat and others.
Kamat had filed a complaint at Ponda Police Station over the threatening message one day later after the Chief Minister was threatened.
“The mobile phones used in the crime have been recovered from the accused,” said Ponda Police Station Police Inspector Mohan Gaude. Ponda Police registered an offence under Section 504, 506, 506 Part II, 387 of Indian Penal Code.
