TCP draft regulations illegal: UGF

PANJIM: United Goans Foundation (UGF) has termed the Town and Country Planning Draft notifications as illegal and bad-in-law. In their objections and suggestions to the draft Regulations, the NGO has pointed out several discrepancies.
UGF says that on the third party certification by ‘Architect or Engineer’ having maximum built up area of 500 sq meters, there is no incorporation of status of ‘present’ approval of finally approved sub division layout and natural plot.
“The high rise building is considered as ground plus 2 storeys or above height of 9 meters, which is contradictory to Principal Regulations 52. Also there is no clarity regarding height of the building from 9 meters to 15 meters,” UGF convenor Dr Ashish Kamat said in the letter to the Chief Town Planner.
“We, therefore pray your good self to withdraw these illegal draft regulations”, UGF demanded.
