Panjim, March 4: Town and Country Planning (TCP) Board on Friday approved surface utilization plans for Quepem and Ponda talukas which would be notified along with the Sattari taluka plans.
Talking to reporters after the meeting, Chief Minister Digamber Kamat who also heads the state level committee said that the Board has approved surface utilization plan for Ponda and Quepem Talukas and has been forwarded to the State government for notification.
“Both the talukas along with Sattari taluka plan would be notified very soon,” Kamat said.
TCP sources stated that both the plans do not have eco-tourism hubs while micro industrial spaces are notified at certain places.
The state government has already notified Regional Plans for Canacona and Pernem talukas.
Sources said that the plans for Bicholim and Sanguem taluka would be taken up next for approval.
Regional Plan 2021 has been facing stiff opposition from the activist groups, who are opposed to eco tourism zones and several industrial zones in the backward talukas.
The TCP officials, however, have rubbished all the allegations.
claiming that the plans are meticulously done exercise to ensure that the development reaches every nook and corner of the state.
