Teachers’ assn calls on Chief Minister

PANJIM: A delegation of Higher Secondary Teachers’ Association under the leadership of President Beena S Naik called on Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar.

The president on behalf of the association expressed gratitude for scrapping of the condition of the restriction of 20% criteria in the selection scale. The delegation presented the memorandum to the Chief Minister regarding the issues of service matters. During their short deliberations, the delegation impressed upon the Education Minister that the Medical Allowance that the HSS teachers receive was a meagre amount of Rs 15 which should be enhanced.
The delegation also brought it to his notice that Higher Secondary teachers are being deprived of the sick leave, study leave, sabbatical leave etc. and requested the Minister to make necessary provisions in the relevant rules. The Chief Minister told the delegation to see him during the assembly session as all his officers would be present there for deliberations, and that the government will be able to take proper decision at that time. The other members of the delegation included Vice President Pradeep Naik, treasurer Anant Pissurlekar, General Secretary Sripad Bhat and the Joint Secretary Hemant Sail.
