PONDA: Goa Governor Mridula Sinha urged teachers to impart education selflessly and with great devotion, just as teachers of the past used to do. She stated that a teacher’s job was not easy as society expected them to shape not just their children’s futures, but society in general.
Sinha was speaking at the golden jubilee celebration of GVMs MIBK High School, Khandepar. She further said, “They have many responsibilities on their shoulders, which they should bear in mind. This profession is the most honourable in society because the teachers can bring laurels to the country and shape the destiny of the nation through proper guidance, knowledge and encouragement to their students. Only teachers can bring social reforms by moulding young generations.”
Appreciating MIBK School’s work in the education sector for the last 50 years, she said society always remembered the good work done by an institution. 70 teachers and non-teaching staff of the school were later felicitated.
