MARGAO: The competition for Goa’s Young Innovator’s Award 2023 was organised by the Goa State Innovation Council (GSIC) on Friday.
A total of 40 projects were presented during the finals held at the Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda. The projects will be provided with the support of mentorship, access to prototyping, funding and incubation. GSIC Chairman Jose Manuel Noronha was the Chief Guest.
The competition was held in two categories: Category 1 – Classes VIII to X and Category 2 – Classes V to VII.
Manovikas English Medium School, represented by Ananya Naik and Swayam Kakokdar, was
the winner in Category 1, with their project titled ‘Smart Saline’.
Maes Dos Pobres High School, Nuvem, represented by Atharv Surlekar, was the winner in Category 2, with their project titled ‘3D-Printed Braille’.
“GSIC has organised this competition to encourage innovative talent amongst young minds studying in the schools of Goa. Students are encouraged to come up with original and creative ideas,” said Noronha.
