The situation reached to such an extent that
13 HIV infected students were rejected by two
schools and were forced to be packed off to
another part of the State. The 23 uninfected
students were also victimized in the process and
had to suffer the ignominy of being rejected by
two schools, despite being perfectly healthy.
The Government and church leaders finally
insisted on education to the 23 students
at the Rivona school, but the damage had
already been done. The agitating parents
blamed the convent and school managements, while
the church and government authorities blamed the
parents for the fiasco.
