Two persons from Karnataka were caught red-handed while they were trying to decamp a cell phone and cash from a car parked near BPS Club here last evening.
The incident occurred when Dr Dinesh Godekar and his wife had just parked their four-wheeler and proceeded to the exhibition-cum-sale on BPS Club grounds.
The two miscreants, natives of Hubli and Bijapur, came close to the parked vehicle and opened the rear glass before laying their hands on the cell phone and cash. But before, they could flee with the booty; they were apprehended by some passersby and handed over to the police.
One of the accused, Ram Nagaraj Hanuman from Bangalore has told the Margao police that he has been staying in Margao for some time and is involved in at least four similar cases.The Margao police are investigating.
