THIVIM: The Sarpanch of Thivim, Sharmila Gadekar and Deputy Sarpanch, Leo Pereira were voted out of office in a no-confidence motion moved against them at a special meeting convened at the panchayat office on Monday.
Seven of the eleven persons at the special meeting, voted against the duo resulting in the motion being passed against them. Four panch members were absent at the meeting.
The meeting was presided over by Presiding Officer and Extension Officer from Bardez Block development office, Manohar Parwar and assisted by the Panchayat Secretary, Dhiraj Govekar.
Seven members had earlier signed the no-confidence motion against the Sarpanch and Deputy Sarpanch for not taking them into confidence before taking decisions related to development works in the village.
