PORVORIM: Acting on a complaint, the Porvorim police rescued three minor children hailing from Cansaulim during a raid carried out at a flat at Porvorim on Tuesday.
Porvorim PI Vishwesh Karpe informed Herald that acting on the the complaint of ‘Child Line Goa’ member Pranita Kalangutkar, a raid was carried out by his team at a flat in Sabnis Royale opposite to Damian de Goa.
“It has come to light that the accused person for the last three months has kept the three minor children with her. They are not related to her by blood and she has also failed to inform the same to the Director of the Directorate of Women and Child Development. We have raided the place and sent the children to Apna Ghar at Merces,” Karpe said.
“The accused has claimed that since the parents of the three children are poor she brought them to her flat for their wellbeing. She also claims that their admission was also done. We are further investigating the case and yet to reach a conclusion in the matter,” he added.
A case has been registered at Porvorim Police Station under section 8 (4) (9) of Goa Children Act.
