Three fast-track courts on cards

PANJIM: State Government has decided to set up three Fast-Track courts for speedy disposal of cases, related to heinous crimes. 
Minister for Law and Judiciary Nilesh Cabral in a written reply tabled on the Floor of the House has said that there is a proposal for establishing three Fast Track Courts in North Goa to dispose of all the cases of heinous crimes like murder, rape, dacoity etc.
Cabral said that the fast track courts would be set up at District Judge Cadre at Panjim, Senior Civil Judge Cadre- Panjim and one in the Senior Civil Judge Cadre in Mapusa. 
The minister said that the proposal has been accepted by the  High Court under the 14th Finance Commission. 
He was replying to the question tabled by BJP MLA Nilkant Halarnkar, who sought to know whether government has any proposal to set up fast track courts. 
Cabral has further informed that the North Goa District and Sessions Court has already pursued the matter of accommodation with the department of General Administration for housing the Fast-Track courts.
