According to Vasco police, Karan Mono Swami (21) of New Vaddem and two others were arrested on suspicion. During interrogation, all the three accused persons confessed to stealing the electronic items from Verna. Police recovered three home theatre systems, 17 speakers, three DVD players, a set top box and other electronic items, all worth over Rs 80,000.
Speaking to Herald, PI Sagar Ekoskar said he suspect that the three accused persons are also involved in more thefts and the police during the course of investigation might recover more goods.

When contacted, Verna PSI Dayanand Bhat said the Vasco police has transferred all the three accused involved in the theft case of electronic items. “Carmelina Gomes Pereira from Verna had filed a complaint stating that some persons stole a home theatre from her house at Verna, amounting to Rs 16,000,” he said.
Bhat further said Verna police will investigate the theft case, while Vasco police will be investigating into the theft of other electronic items recovered from the trio.
