Couple hurt in Ribandar accident

PANJIM: Three occupants of a SUV car were injured after the overspeeding vehicle rammed against a Kadamba bus at Caranzalem. The car too was completely damaged.

The accident happened at 3 pm at Caranzalem near St Peter’s Chapel on Monday as the KTC ferrying school children while attempting to turn right on the main road was dashed into by a SUV vehicle which was heading from Miramar to Dona Paula. The impact was was such that three lamp posts by the roadside were knocked down.

Three occupants of the car suffered injuries and were shifted to Goa Medical College (GMC) for treatment.

Meanwhile, in yet another accident near the Chapel in Ribandar, a couple travelling in a four wheeler were  hurt after a private passenger bus dashed against their. The injured couple were shifted to the GMC for treatment. The accident resulted in a long traffic jam at 5 pm in the evening. Police stepped in and cleared the vehicles.
