PORVORIM: Mapusa Police late Tuesday evening arrested three more suspects in connection with the murder of the Nigerian national at Parra,
According to Mapusa Police, the main suspect, Omkar Palyekar, along with two others, Prajyot Dabholkar and Prayag Palyekar, were arrested by the police.
It may be recalled that Obodo Uzama Simone was found murdered at Lobowado-Parra on October 31. The murder had sparked off protests by a large group of Nigerians in Parra and later riots in Porvorim, where a police hearse van was damaged and the national highway was blocked thrice near the O’Coqueiro restaurant in Porvorim during the day.
Mapusa Police had earlier arrested Surendra Pol from his residence at Arpora on November 6, while another suspect, Pravin Mandrekar (31) was arrested on November 9.
Earlier, the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Mapusa has issued non-bailable warrant against 11 suspects involved in the murder of Nigerian at Parra.
JMFC issued the non-bailable warrant under Section 73(1) of Criminal Procedure code. The suspects against whom warrant have been issued are Omkar Keshav Palyekar, Runal Keshav Palyekar, Projot Dabholker, Gourish Govekar, Ashish Ranganath Gaonker, Praney Prakash Divkar, Sitaram Jagannath Gaonker, Prajay Palyekar, Sagar C Naik, Sarvesh Murari Govekar and Rohan Ashok Palyekar.
