PANJIM: The Imagine Panaji Smart City Limited (IPSCDL) has completed and opened three key roads in the heart of the capital city, ahead of its deadline for the use of the general public.
These roads are Dr Wolfgango de Silva Road (from EDC House to ORRA Jewellery Store), a length of 0.27 km, Dr P Shivgaonkar Road (from D V Road (Mahalaxmi) to M G Road), a length of 0.20 km and Dr Roque D’Souza Road (from Church Square to M G Road), a length of 0.20 km.
IPSCDL managing director and chief executive office (CEO) Sanjit Rodrigues, IAS said, “We had assured to complete these roads and open them for the general public by January 26 and we have kept to our promise.”
Rodrigues further said that Imagine Panaji Smart City Limited is working round the clock to meet the deadlines set by the State government and to ensure smooth flow of traffic and reduce inconveniences caused due to on-going works of Smart City Mission being undertaken on different stretches of the city.
The State government had already asked the contractors to complete the ongoing Smart City works by May 31 this year.
