Tigers footprints spotted in Sattari

MAYEM, MAY 26 The Forest department officials have recently spotted footprints of tigers at two different places in Keri-Sattari. It may be recalled that the work on census of tigers existing in Goa, conducted by the forest department, is in progress in different parts of the State.

The Forest department officials have recently spotted footprints of tigers at two different places in Keri-Sattari.
It may be recalled that the work on census of tigers existing in Goa, conducted by the forest department, is in progress in different parts of the State.
While the work on census of tigers was in progress, the Forest department officials found footprints of tiger, tigress and cub at two different places in Keri.
According to sources, the footprints of tigress and cub were first spotted at Chorla Ghat and later at Kelawade-Keri. Following the development, forest official Deepak Betkikar from Ponda office along with his team took the footprints engulfed in plaster of Paris and sent it to wild life discovery institution at Dehradun.
Similarly, the proof that tigers are moving in areas like Surla, Pansuli, Hivrem, Vaghurem, Dudhsagar, Kaware, Verle, Salgini, Gaodondari, wild life sanctuaries at Netrawali, Cotigao, Mollem and Bhagwan Mahaveer have also been found.
