Tight security to remain till counting day

MARGAO: A total of 1,365 police personnel, including five companies of para-military forces, will be deployed in South Goa Parliamentary constituency for the April 12 election.

MARGAO: A total of 1,365 police personnel, including five companies of para-military forces, will be deployed in South Goa Parliamentary constituency for the April 12 election.
Sub-divisional police officer Margao DySP Mohan Naik told the media in the presence of Returning Officer Mihir Vardhan that five companies of para-military forces, comprising 500 personnel, will be drafted for polling duty on the day of polling. 
Besides, local policemen will be deployed in strength across the constituency, including vulnerable pockets, expenditure sensitive polling stations and critical polling stations.
Replying to a question, he said that the para-military forces will remain deployed in the constituency till counting day on May 16 as a precautionary measure.
