MAYEM: The rehabilitees of Tillari Irrigation project, settled in Sal-Bicholim, have threatened to go on an indefinite fast unto death from January 26 in protest against government’s failure to fulfil their demands.
According to a rehabilitee and retired soldier of Indian Battalion, Ramdas Gawas, the indefinite fast unto death agitation will be observed in front of the office of AE, Sub Division 1, Works Division VI, Goa Tillari Division Dodamarg-Bicholim on January 26 at 10 am.
“The rehabilitees cannot avail a single benefit even after residing in this area for the last 15 years. We are facing acute difficulties in getting benefits like power connections, approach roads, house numbers, Form 1/14 and multipurpose certificates and no action has been taken by the State government despite submitting several memorandums,” stated Gawas.
