PANJIM: The State cabinet Wednesday decided to dissolve the Goa Tillari Irrigation Development Corporation, approved the conversion of the Cacora land that is earmarked for a garbage disposal plant into industrial zone on a Private Public Partnership finalized for conversion of mixed garbage into fuel.
Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar informed that the Water Resources Department would handle all Tillari project related issues and all the corporation staff would shifted to Private Public Partnership.
He also said that work on the garbage disposal plant at Cacora would begin in October.
On the third issue – of conversion of mixed garbage into fuel – he said that a plant that would take care of 10 tonnes of garbage would be set up on a PPP mode either at Sonsodo or Bicholim with N K Aromatics being given the job after a tender was floated.
Parrikar said that the firm has a plant at Tamil Nadu and whatever they produce would come to the government.
The cabinet also proposed to donate Rs 5 crore to the Prime Minister’s relief fund for Kashmir flood victims.
On Uttarakhand relief works, he said that the government had identified some projects and a final decision would be taken on them.
