PANJIM: Former Goa Forward Party President Prabhakar Timble has slammed the newly-formed BJP government for appointing one of the junior most members of the Goa Legislative Assembly as the Protem Speaker.
In a statement, Timble said, “The new government wants to begin by breaking constitutional conventions and well established parliamentary practices and advised the Governor to appoint the junior most member of the Assembly as Protem Speaker sending the signal from the start itself that we don’t care.”
However, in this case, Siddharth Kunkalienker, who has not completed even a single full term as an MLA as he had become an MLA of Panjim in February 2015, has been appointed to the post.
