Tivim gram sabha discusses Tamnar project, draft CZMP

MAPUSA: The Tivim Village Panchayat discussed the draft CZMP and Tamnar Project during a special gram sabha held on Friday.

During the meeting, it was learnt that the fields are shown as mangroves while making the area non-develop. The villagers demanded that the areas mentioned as mangroves should be rectified so that the people can have the access to the area for future development. 

The villagers also claimed that there are also sluice gates in the area, which cannot be repaired, is shown as mangroves.

On the Tamnar project, it was learnt that one of the tower is coming up in CRZ 3 area. A villager Neethi Anna Fernandes said, “If the government cannot allow locals to have development in CRZ, No Development Zone then how can they allow outsiders to build tower in the CRZ area. This is not for the development of the village.”

Further, the villagers claimed that there is already 200 KV HTL line passing through the village. They demanded that the government should upgrade the existing line or have the 400 KV line over the 200 KV line. 

Based on the villagers demand, it was resolved to write to the concern authorities to either upgrade the existing 200 kV line or have the 400 KV line over head of the 200 KV line so that more area is not affected.
