PANJIM: The Goa Trinamool Congress Party (TMC) on Monday condemns the comment made about newly-inducted inducted member Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco by former Union Minister and senior Congress leader P Chidambaram who had called him a ‘losing candidate’.
Countering Chidambaram, former MLA Kiran Kandolkar pointed out the fallacy of Chidambaram’s comment, noting that Lourenco himself is a three-time legislator. He condemned the comment and said that Chidambaram had stooped way below his stature. “If you claim that Reginaldo Lourenco is a losing candidate, why did you feature his name in the first list of candidates that was released just 10 days ago? Does Congress put losing candidates in their first list?” asked Kandolkar.
Reginaldo and Ethel Lobo too exposed the manipulative tactics designed by the Congress to mislead the voters.
Lourenco said Chidambaram’s remark accused Congress leaders alleged tricks they played against him to malign his image. “Too many tricks are being played to malign my image. We never have been involved in any corruption case. They want to bring me down because I called out their incompetence”, he said.
