PANJIM: A day after Trinamool Congress (TMC) released the list of its State Executive and first set of candidates, TMC Goa’s newly-appointed Vice-President Aishwarya Salgaonkar resigned from her post and primary membership of the party. In St Andre, social worker Rama Kankonkar, who had recently joined the party also resigned and said he would contest as an independent candidate. Reportedly, TMC gave the St Andre ticket to Jagdish Bhobe on the same day that Bhobe resigned from Goa Forward Party (GFP) and joined TMC.
Kankonkar’s comments, which resonated with those who have recently left TMC, were about how it was TMC and their political strategist team IPAC that had approached him to join the party and assured him that he would be given the ticket. Kankonkar slammed the party for now trying to give one-sided and vague reasons for sidelining him.

Salgaonkar, also spoke about how various party workers, mainly the women cadre are being sidelined by TMC and AAP and cited these as part of the reasons for her resignation.
She hit out at TMC Vice President Luizinho Faleiro for getting the TMC ticket in Fatorda despite already being appointed as the party’s Rajya Sabha MP. She said Ethel Lobo who has been working in the field for thirty years had been promised the ticket but was ignored due to Faleiro’s greed with respect to his candidature from Fatorda.
