PANJIM: The local unit of Aam Aadmi Party, has said that it will announce its candidates one week from now and its candidates will have an impeccable record, even though he or she may not necessarily be a rock star.
Speaking to media persons, AAP member Dr Oscar Rebello said, “We will finalise our candidates by next week. We will ensure that the candidates we choose are clean candidate even if they don’t have rock star popularity,” Dr Rebello said.
The party is expected to contest both the North and South Goa Lok Sabha seats in the State.
AAP Goa has also raised the crucial issue of fraudsters collecting money in the name of Aam Aadmi Party and has cautioned the people against giving donations to conmen posing as party representatives who use the Gandhi topi to add to their ingenuity.
“We have heard rumours about this. We have not received a single complaint, but still we want to caution people who are interested in donating to the party,” AAP spokesperson Valmiki Naik told reporters.
Naik however, assured that unlike other parties, every single rupee donated would be reflected on the party’s website and that the crowd sourced funding would begin in Goa soon. Dr Rebello however assured that they would not be collecting money from mining companies.
“At a personal level, I would be extremely disappointed if the party took money from the mining, real estate companies and casinos”.
