The story revolves around Anton (Crispino Marcelo), his wife Jacinta (Avril Fernandes) and their daughters Andrea (Clera de Sousa), Natasha (Lengina Fernandes) and Nadia (Chrisenti Sequeira).
Anton’s concern towards his family members prompts him to plough his ancestral field on a regular basis. But his greedy wife Jacinta cannot stand his genuine efforts and works upon a wicked plan with the help of Kambli (Rosario Lobo) and advocate (Bento Barreto).
Jacinta’s plan to sell off the ancestral field makes Anton upset and furious. A mishap leaves Anton disabled, and he is cared by his daughter Andrea and neglected by the rest of the family. Will greed for money bring lasting happiness to Jacinta? What is her fate after being gripped by brain tumour?
Will her own family reciprocate her love or will unexpected care flow generously from her stepdaughter? Preserving ancestral property for posterity, greed for money, step-motherly treatment, overprotection by guardians, disrespect to parental sacrifices are some of the family issues highlighted in this tiatr, which bring in instant reflection.
Avril stands tall in her role as mother. Vera is comfortable in the grandmother’s robes. Lengina and Chrisenti are at ease as spoilt siblings. But Crispino as a simpleton father and Clera as his considerate daughter outshine the rest. Rosario and Bento extend good support to the main cast. In the comical acts, Pogo (Savio Pinto) resembles ‘Mr Bean’ and Lolita (Natasha Barcellos) is impressive in her body movements.
In the category of songs, solos by Chrisenti Sequeira, Felix Fernandes and Ramson Cardozo, a quartet by Ricket Dias, Chrisenti Sequeira, Xavier Fernandes and Selsa Sequeira and choral by Vera Pereira, Mercy Coelho, Natasha Barcellos, Xavier Fernandes, Bento Barreto and Victor Vaz were entertaining.
Stage sets besides the light effects by Bento Barreto and Vasudev Chopdekar respectively were just appropriate to the situations created on stage.
