CANDOLIM: A tourist from Madhya Pradesh drowned off Candolim beach on Wednesday morning at 08.30 am.
According to sources, a group of eight tourists from Madhya Pradesh were on the Candolim beach, on Wednesday morning at 8.30 am.
Three persons from the group ventured into the sea for a swim. Suddenly, one of them got dragged into the sea. A foreigner who was strolling on the beach spotted the victim in distress. He rushed into the water with a rescue board to help the victim.
Seeing the foreigner rushing into the water with the rescue board, the lifeguard on duty too rushed into the water to assist him. They brought the victim to the shore and shifted him to Candolim Primary Health Centre, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
