Traffic island to come up at Margao power house junction

MARGAO (HR): The district authorities have finally woken up to the need to design the traffic circle at the power house junction.
District Collector G P Naik along with PWD and traffic officials inspected the circle and issued instructions for its development in scientific lines.
The Collector issued strict instructions to the authorities to ensure that no fruit vendor is allowed anywhere within 100 meter radius of the traffic island. “There is a notification prohibiting setting up of kiosks and handcarts 100 meters from the traffic circle. The authorities will implement the notification”, the Collector said.
Naik said the PWD has tendered the work of developing the traffic island and that work on the island would commence once the traffic movement is monitored by the traffic cell of the Margao police.
