Transport dept launches SMS complaints system

PANJIM: The transport department has started a new SMS complaints system wherein individuals can complain against bus operators and other drivers for disobeying traffic rules. According to department officials,

PANJIM: The transport department has started a new SMS complaints system wherein individuals can complain against bus operators and other drivers for disobeying traffic rules. According to department officials, no complaint will be kept pending for more than 30 days.
One can complain in general about anyone they find disobeying traffic rules. All one needs to do is send an SMS to 51969: “GOA <space> DOT <space> RTOcode <space> Vehicle No <space> nature of complaint.
RTO code is the letters ADT followed by the first three letters of your taluka Assistant Director of Transport (ADT Office). Eg, if the local ADT office is at Mapusa RTO, the code will be “ADTMAP” or if it is Quepem it will be ADTQUE and so on. 
The complaint will be received by the system and the concerned office will process the complaint and initiate action, if the complaint is found to be true. The complainant will be given a complaint number for follow up. The system officials have said, the SMS based complaint registration system is an online redressal system to produce effectiveness and speedy resolution of citizens’ complaints allowing anytime anywhere complaints as well as the promise of increased responsiveness and complaints status enquiry.
