Ponda: Technical Assistant Director of Mines and Geology Anthony Lopes along with other staff conducted an inspection at various places in Goa and seized around 18 trucks which were illegally transporting laterite, sand and basalt.
At Old Goa a truck of laterite rubble and two trucks of basalt were seized. In Mardol one truck with laterite stone was seized while in Porvorim 6 trucks were seized.
Three trucks carrying laterite stone and one with rubble were seized in Cuncolim, besides one carrying basalt were seized and at Farmagudi five trucks were seized.
